Bakery Team Leader – Maternity Cover

The core focus of this role is to lead a team to produce world class food. A safety and food safety first approach is essential, as is the ability to help grow and develop a team through effective communication and a passion for results.

Key accountabilities

  • Responsible for putting personal safety and food safety at the heart of everything we do.
  • Developing and lead an operational team of  operators to help deliver the company objectives.
  • Ensuring at all times that safe working practices, quality standards and performance targets are met.
  • Understanding key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational challenges, and dealing with them quickly and efficiently.
  • Driving a continuous improvement culture across the Bakery.
  • Recognising skills and development areas of the shift team, and developing personal growth through training, coaching and mentoring.
  • Compliance with the Company's policies and standards.

Experience and Skills

NVQ Level 3 Certificate in Team Leading or equivalent.
4 GCSE’s Grade A-C equivalent.
IOSH or equivalent Health and Safety certification.
Minimum two years’ experience supervising or managing a team.
Experience of Microsoft Office products to a standard equivalent to ECDL.
Experience of continuous improvement practices and processes.
